Websites

Because of the incredible variety of options a website can include, websites are quoted individually. Generally, fees can range from $950 for a basic six page site to $6,000 for a site that includes a database, a blog, content managment systems, search engine optimization, google maps, a member directory, a photo gallery, file sharing, YouTube feed, polls, Google analytics, WebForms for easy online client information gathering and more! (There's just so much cool stuff available now.)

Process

Before I agree to take the project on, I ask a number of questions including:

  • What is your marketing goal? Is it to bring in new clients? Generate new business from existing clients? More community exposure? Recognition as an expert in a certain treatment or field? Promotion of a new treatment? Prevention? It could also simply be to bring in a certain number of clients and others to a lecture or a social or promotional event.
  • What audience are you targeting? All of your clients? Cat owners? Dog owners? Bird owners? Other veterinarians? Senior citizens? Puppy owners? Owners of pets with chronic disease? Owners of overweight pets? Those who want to pick out a new breed of dog? I can help you discover what motivates each audience segment to act, to require more services or make an initial appointment. (see excerpts from Carin Smith's Client Satisfaction Pays here.)
  • How will what you offer benefit readers of your eNewsletter or other client information pieces? Rather than focus on the details of what you offer, you want to emphasize how your services maximize pets' quality of life, minimize owners' long-term veterinary expenditures and/or extend pets' life. You don't have long to keep your client's attention and move them to action. Make sure what they're getting out of it is clear up front.
  • What motivators do your clients normally respond to? Are they particularly sensitive to price? Do they want to do everything they can to ensure they optimize their pets' health or do they just want to get by? Can you save them time somehow? Can you help them understand their pets' medical issues better? Can you make their lives easier by offering them email or mobile web appointment reminders, or online access to their pets' medical records? What most concerns your clients in regards to their pets' health?

Once questions like these are answered, you can browse the sample eNewsletters and/or eAnnouncements on the site to find the most appropriate or most appealing. Using your photos, logo and any graphics you're interested in including, I will develop three sample layouts for you to look at. I also can find stock photos or clip art to augment your publications.

Because I keep abreast of the veterinary and pet industries, if you ever feel at a loss for an article idea, I can help you come up with a current topic that you can personalize for your readers' needs. Keep in mind that including discussions of local pet events, local animal-related legal propositions and reviews of popular products will make your newsletter very valuable to your clients. As do animal cartoons! (Which I have access to a lot of.)
